Urban Health Fellowship Coordinator

 

Reports to: Educational Equity Programs Director, Health Equity Programs

Director.

Status: Seasonal, hourly 

Position Summary:

Assist Program Directors with program area needs. Coordinate students, guests and

scheduled activities.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supports and coordinates activities for students, volunteers, and guests
  • Manages student daily activities and field trips
  • Assists with direct service and program support
  • Communicates with Program Directors regarding needs of the program
  • Facilitates student research projects
  • Assists with civic engagement when needed
  • Provides program support for the Program Director
  • Works with guests, staff, parents and UCLA medical staff to ensure the effectiveness of the program
  • Enters data into software system
  • Tracks the progress of students
  • Collects and organizes program data
  • Participates in youth activities
  • Assists with daily needs of the program, as needed
  • Carries out goals, objectives, and program schedules for students
  • Organizes materials and represents the department at various events and community activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (in progress) in education, social work, counseling or related field
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to the goals, guidelines, and principles the Social Justice Learning Institute
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Possesses a valid California Driver’s License
  • Able obtain a live scan clearance
  • Availability to occasionally work on weeknights and weekends upon the request of management and attend team and staff meetings/trainings
  • Possesses fantastic written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking skills
  • Able to form strong relationships with a wide range of constituents, including, but not limited to, parents, students, staff and leadership
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Experience in working with young people from the youth development perspective
  • Highly computer literate
