Earth Friendly Demonstrations and Activities for the Whole Family
Featuring Performances by Kenny Lattimore and The Sledge Grits Band
An annual festival designed to emphasize the link between personal and environmental health. Inglewood is undergoing a sustainability transformation, and this year’s festival will inform residents of the many new plans for the City, including the development of Healthy Lifestyle Centers by the Social Justice Learning Institute.
Join the Social Justice Learning Institutes Health Equity team, and participate in a wide range of free classes from nutrition, Farm to Plate cooking classes, and urban gardening workshops. Classes are offered every 3rd Saturday of the months from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention initiative, SJLI is providing the community with Healthy Lifestyle Centers. These centers are one-stop shops for community members to learn ways to improve local food security, enjoy cooking demonstrations, and participate in nutrition, fitness, and gardening classes.
Please Join Us for “Building with Purpose” A Friend-Raiser Event Honoring the All Ways Up Foundation at the New Offices of the Social Justice Learning Institute
On Saturday, December 6th, 2014, join us for an inspiring afternoon at our new headquarters as we launch our college center, music lab, video lab and aeroponics garden space. At this Friend-raiser, we are inviting to you learn more about the movement to improve the lives of boys and men of color as well as celebrate the success and growth of SJLI's programs.
Supporters of education, health equity and food justice are invited to attend this event. This event and trees are free, but registration is required. Donations throughout the event are encouraged and all proceeds will benefit the youth and communities we serve.
