The Inglewood Certified Farmers' Market is the first ever in the city. Launched in September 2015, it has 35+ booths selling fresh fruits and vegetables as well as prepared and pre-packaged food. In October 2016, the Social Justice Learning Institute secured an official partnership with the City of Inglewood to host the market permanently. With a Strong commitment to the community, the market also includes local artisans and handicraft makers all to be enjoyed on the historic Market Street in Downtown Inglewood.
The purpose of the Market is to promote healthy eating and active living in the City of Inglewood. Each Market will have healthy recipe cooking demos, fitness blast classes (10-15 minutes), raffle prizes, live music, entertainment, and more!
The long-awaited market was established in response to the community's need for more options to shop locally for healthy food. It is held on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 3PM-7PM.
EBT/WIC Accepted. EBT dollars spent on fresh fruit and vegetables can be matched up to $10 with 'Market Match'.
